Label printers for nutrition labels
Nutrition labels print best on a thermal label printer at 300 dpi — the small print on a nutrition panel stays sharp. These are the printers and label rolls that work with every label NutriQuant Pro makes, with figures from the makers' own specification pages.
One printer setup for every label
- A continuous roll fits every label type, because the printer cuts each label to its own length: 102 mm on the Brother QL-1110NWB, or 4 in continuous on the Zebra ZD421 or Brother TD-4550DNWB.
- 4 × 6 in (100 × 150 mm) stickers fit every label except the full US panel — for that one, use the US linear layout or a continuous roll.
- Only the UK traffic-light label needs a colour printer: the Epson ColorWorks CW-C4000, or an office colour printer with A4 or US Letter sheet labels.
- A long ingredient list makes a taller label, so the app marks with ✓ the stickers each dish fits.

Label rolls and sheets that fit
Before you buy
- Direct thermal labels need no ink or ribbon, but they darken with heat and sunlight — fine for food sold within days. For products kept for months, or frozen, use thermal transfer with a ribbon, or labels made for the freezer.
- DYMO LabelWriter 5XL (300 dpi, 4 in) is also simple to use, but it only accepts DYMO's own labels.
- In the print dialog, choose your label as the paper size and print at 100% (actual size).
- For labels that touch food packaging, ask your supplier for an adhesive approved for indirect food contact (US 21 CFR 175.105).
